How to Use the Neumorphism Generator
Choose Background Color
Pick your palette color. Neumorphic elements must share the exact same background color as the parent surface to create the illusion of extrusion.
Select Tactile Shape
Choose between Flat (extruded), Concave (hollowed bevel), Convex (domed bulb), or Inset (sunken switch/button).
Copy CSS Code
Click "Copy CSS" to obtain the dual box-shadow and gradient styling for your stylesheets.
Neumorphic Physics & Calculations
Dual-Direction Lighting
Neumorphism uses two opposing shadows: a darker shadow cast downward-right, and a bright specular highlight on the upper-left.
Dynamic Color Synthesis
CSSCraft's color engine mathematically derives the highlights and shadows in HSL color space, ensuring perfect contrast for any hue.
Interactive Click Feedback
Test clicking directly on the live preview box to verify how the tactile state will feel to end users.
Frequently Asked Questions
Neumorphism relies on having room for both a lighter specular highlight and a darker shadow. On pure white (#fff), you cannot create a highlight lighter than the background. On pure black (#000), you cannot create a darker shadow. Soft grays, slates, and muted pastels work best.
Because neumorphic borders blend softly into backgrounds, maintain high contrast for all inner typography and icons (at least 4.5:1 ratio), and always provide clear focus rings for keyboard navigation.
